October 11, 1929 - May 2, 2017
On Tuesday, May 2, 2017 - Beverley Louise O'Toole suddenly passed away, with Mona, her longstanding caregiver, by her side. The Doctor was able to share Rob's phone message of "I love you Mom".
In that moment, we lost our General, Mother and Oma. To many, you lost "Mrs. O'Toole", a unique and feisty individual who forged through her life with spunk, determination and opinions that were never to be challenged. To a few others, you lost "Bev" - a generous and loyal friend. She leaves behind her children: Rob (Shannon), Deirdre (Clive), Michael (Victoria), Jim (Trish) and step-son John (Evva). Her grandchildren: Derek (Claire), Kevin (Marianna), Carolyne (fiancée Ashley), Jaqueline, Amanda, Katie, Sarah and Maya.
Mom lived and loved big. Her family, her pets, her home and garden, needlepoint, shopping ("because if I ever want it, I'll have it"), travelling, beautiful clothes, and her annual Christmas display meant everything to her - although not necessarily in this particular order. Her signature statement however were her mumus.
The family respectfully asks that you do not send flowers. Please donate to your favourite charity (if it involves animals, it would make Mom particularly happy).
Message to Mom: "It's time to hand over the reins - you did a great job! You'll be able to reunite with your oldest and dearest friend, Audrey (Robson). You'll have Sheba by your side. And from time to time, please remember to look down on us." Love, Your Family.

So sorry for your loss. What I often think of first when I think of your Mum is the kid in her. Happy watching a good wrestle between two kids in search of a kiss. Or herself playing practical jokes on a shy unsuspecting pal, substituting rubber eggs for real ones at breakfast, and seeing how long it would take for the ball to drop. And god, it seemed to take forever. Then came that laugh of hers. Yes, Bev did everything in a big way.
