Beverly Lombardo Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 21, 2024.
Beverly Ann Lombardo (née Blair), affectionately known as Bev and Nana, passed away peacefully in Waterford, Connecticut, on July 18, 2024, at the age of 89. Born on March 12, 1935, in New Britain, she was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend whose compassion and kindness left a profound impact on all who knew her.

Beverly's life was a testament to kindness, a love for fun, and an unwavering willingness to help others at any moment. Whether she was enjoying time on the beach (sitting, never swimming), singing and cleaning to Ray Charles, or playing card games, Beverly embraced life with passion and joy.

Her career path was as diverse as her interests, spanning from her time as a restaurant owner to roles in bookkeeping and real estate, culminating in becoming a respected broker. Throughout her varied careers, Beverly always made time to give back. She volunteered tirelessly, becoming a familiar presence at local senior centers, hospitals, and her church. Her nurturing spirit and warm smile provided comfort and solace to countless individuals in their times of need. Beyond her charitable endeavors, Beverly was a rock of support and strength within her family and community. People closest to her would characterize her as funny, loveable, honest and most of all, a troublemaker. She imparted invaluable values of love, determination, and resilience to her children and grandchildren, shaping them into compassionate and resilient individuals.

Beverly is survived by her sons, Dominic Kolosky (Cindy), Vito "Jay" Kolosky Jr, Paul Gilberto (Priscilla), Phillip Gilberto (Gail), and her daughter Donna Gilberto. Bev also has 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, sister, daughter Jean Marchand, her husbands, Joseph Lombardo, Joseph Gilberto, and partner Dave Peet.

Beverly's family would like to express a special thank you to all the nurses, aides, and personnel at Greentree Manor Nursing Home & Beacon Hospice for their wonderful and attentive care.

A celebration of Beverly's life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made towards the research for Alzheimer's, an association of your choice, honoring Beverly's legacy of compassion and care.

I will miss you. Your love of life and irreverent humor were a gift! I recall vividly the first time Uncle Joe brought you to a family picnic. You wore an emerald green silk pants suit - with your perfectly cut blonde hair you stood out in the crowd of relatives gathered!
You embraced your new family as they gathered you into the fold. I have enjoyed every encounter, visit and conversation. Be at peace -
With love,
Sylvia

Beverly was one of the first people who I met when I started attending Christ Lutheran Church. A very sweet woman.
