Bill Sapolio Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 12, 2008.
SAPOLIO BILL
Bill Sapolio or better known as "the lawnmower man" was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan from Pittsburgh, PA. He served in the Navy from 1963-1967. He was the owner of Bill's Lawnmower for 30 years. He loved serving his customers and friends. He was respected by all. He served his true love Verna for 43 years. Their love produced 4 children whom he worshipped and adored. Even in his illness he encouraged and supported them. He enjoyed spoiling his 10 grandchildren with ice cream and candy. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Waxahachie. He used his bold, Italian personality to share his love for Jesus with others. Even in the end he assured his family that he was in "Jesus' hands". We are rejoicing that indeed he is in "Jesus' hands". We, his family, would like to thank the many friends and caregivers for the care and support of our father. Dr. Redington, Dr. Majors and the staff at Lighted Pathways used their God-given gifts to heal our father as best they could. The countless nurses and caregivers gave Dad so much. Our father had many visitors which was a great source of comfort for him. He remarked, "I didn't know I had so many friends." That was his humility. We would like to thank you all for your prayers and support. We know that you will miss him as we will. He is survived by his wife, Verna Sapolio; his children, Angela Groom of Ovilla, TX., Vonnie Morphew of Grandview, TX., Vincent Sapolio of Red Oak, TX., and Christina Shade of Beothell, WA.; his grandchildren, Jessica and Scott Sapolio, Nicholas and Tristan Morphew, Brenna, Evan, Aaron, Wyatt and Lexi Groom, and Logan Shade; his brother and sister, Lorn Sapolio and Linda Vietmeier. The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Tuesday at the WAYNE BOZE FUNERAL HOME, Waxahachie. The Celebration of Bill's Life will be 2 PM Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Waxahachie with Dr. Leroy Fenton officiating. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 560089, Dallas, Texas, 75356. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
