Bill Stenquist

1951-2022

Pagosa Springs, CO —Bill Stenquist passed away peacefully at his home in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Bill was born in Logan, Utah and lived in Salt Lake City for the majority of his life. Bill is survived by his wife of forty-nine years Rochelle and two children Alan and Katherine (Joe) and his dog Willie. Bill was an amazing husband, father, and friend. His laugh and wit would fill a room and his laugh will be the biggest thing we will miss. Bill had a successful career in publishing and was executive editor with multiple major publishing companies. Bill's biggest passion in life was being in the mountains or in the desert. He was an accomplished runner; finishing in the top three twice in the Wasatch 100, and twice in under 24 hours. Bill wanted to thank his dear friend Dave Hanscom (Park City) for all of his coaching, pacing, and adventures. Bill loved skiing and was an integral part of the Utah Nordic community. He was the editor of the TUNA (The Utah Nordic Alliance) News and on the board of TUNA for many years. Bill worked to preserve world class Nordic skiing in Utah by helping integrate Soldier Hollow into the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation- ensuring this world class venue for generations to come. Bill will be dearly missed by his family and all of his friends.

Bill was one of my best friends. We had many good times together. He was a brother in the Fellas high school fraternity. I will always remember Bill.

One of the best times of my career was getting to work with Bill on the Engineering list. I loved his stories and his laugh was contagious.

Dear Shelly, Katherine and Alan, I am so sorry for Bills passing at a "tender" age ( bill would have something to say about that choice of words) . I so enjoyed being in Bills company because of his dry, wicked sense of humor, and his laugh. Will think of him as I am on the chairlift at Targhee this year with a flask of red wine. I´m sure Gaia shook at his passing. Love, Cindy

I met Bill through another running friend, who is also a Utah transplant to here in Colorado. I will miss Bill´s wit, keen mind and his varied perspectives on life.

Bill was a good friend during our MBA program at Westminster as well as after. I was saddened when he relocated due to the distance and am even more sad that he's passed on into eternity. You were a great friend and help Bill. Rest in peace my friend.........

I miss you, Bill. I am a better person because of you. You were a dear friend to me and our hut buddies. I won´t soon forget "that smile" or your laugh. Rest easy. You´re free.
