Billy Herrington

William "Billy" Glen Harold Herrington, 48, born on July 14, 1969 to William Herrington and Kathleen Herrington-Wood, in Rockville Center, New York, passed away March 2, 2018. He resided in Palm Springs, California at the time of his passing. He is survived by his mother Kathleen Wood, his sister Kathleen Herrington, and his son William. Billy spent most of his life in New York where he became a CNA/phlebotomist. As a child he trained in his father's dojo eventually becoming a 3rd degree black belt in Isshinryu karate. He started his own carpentry business which he brought to California. Billy was also an entertainer. He created the Chinese character Aniki, which translates to Big Brother. His character Aniki became a huge success internationally resulting in an Aniki action figure, video game, and numerous public appearances in China and Japan where he was celebrated by his numerous fans. Billy enjoyed spending time in the outdoors- hiking and biking in the canyons of Palm Springs. Being an avid reader, he enjoyed sharing his philosophies about life and could never turn down an opportunity for a spirited debate. Billy's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of his life far exceeded the quantity of time in which he lived. He loved many, and was adored by many. He will be greatly missed. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, 69855 E. Ramon Road, Cathedral City, California. A public memorial will take place on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 12 noon.
