BLAIR MARSH Obituary
Pattie "Blair" Marsh, age 28 died suddenly on September 6, 2012. Blair was well known to many in the Danville area. She was well loved by her family and especially by her Aunts, Uncles and cousins who cherished her. Blair was born in Portsmouth, VA on December 28, 1983 a daughter of Frankie Marsh and Barbara Anderson Marsh of the Spring Garden Community of Blairs. She is also survived by her sister, Lindsy Marsh of Blairs and her fianc‚ Brandon Cox of Chatham, her brother, Joe Marsh of Blairs, grandparents, Patsy Yates of Danville and Frank and Ruby Marsh of Chatham. She was predeceased by her grandfather, J. M. Anderson, Jr.
Blair was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church in Chatham and worked at Buffalo Wild Wings. She was attending Danville Community College. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 10, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. from the Townes Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Hal Carter and Kevin Hammell officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends at Townes Funeral Home on Sunday, September 9, 2012 from 6 to 8 P.M. and at other times will be at the residence, 8176 Spring Garden Road, Blairs. Family of Blair - My memory of Blair was how kind she was to me and Eula when we attended Doris funeral. Eula was not up to coming to the funeral; but we plan to visit with our extended
family in Blairs when she is up to it.
My hope and prayer is that whatever brings you comfort will be with you at this difficult time.

Blair, you were a very special friend to me, and made me feel welcomed when we moved to Chatham. My father used to coach your baseball team moons ago.. I remember how we used to go out and play baseball. You were the best at baseball. As we grew older, we went to school together, and continued to be friends. We shared good times, laughs, and sad times.
I can't believe that you are not here with us anymore. You are loved so much and missed terribly.
You kept us going down here, I hope your in peace now. You will never be forgotten. Miss you so much.

Heartbroken for your loss. The world is definitely less bright without Blair. We have wonderful memories of her visiting our daughter, Lauren, during Woodlawn Academy years and will keep her memory alive through those memories. We miss you, Blair!

Blair, my entire family was lucky enough to know you, although I told your sister it's funny because none of us met you at the same time. I met you through mutual friends, started bringing my little brother around a couple years later, not really sure when my sisters and my parents met you, although I'm sure it was probably at Buffalo's or Outback later on down the road. My husband told me after we met that you two went way back to childhood together and even has pics from back in the day before we ever met of a group of you guys hanging out at our first place. Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is that we were all lucky enough to know you in our own special way, and we can never all agree on anything, but we all agree that we thought the world of you. Blair, when I was little I used to go to church and we would sing "this little light o' mine" and I remember how much I used to love when we would sing that song because it actually just had this "feel good" sound and we all got so into it and we would be dancing and waving our hands and clapping, and that was the only song I ever remember our parents ever letting us get so riled up singing, so we really let loose when we sang that one, you know? Of course, that was back when most of the songs we sang seemed boring to me at that age, though. But I just loved that one. I never really thought much on the words and the meaning they held until last night when I was reading over the Facebook posts from all the people who were leaving memories of how you brought light into their lives, even if it was just from waiting on them one time. You were so kind and funny that someone actually posted that you had made that much of an impression from just that one contact. Blair, I think God wrote that song with you in mind. I think that should have been your theme music in life. Like back when everyone was into watching the WWF/WWE Wrestling and the wrestlers would come out to the theme music that described who they were. Well, okay maybe we would have had to spruce the beat up a little, make a mix tape, play with it a little,... but really, for some reason for the first time in probably over 20 years I thought of that song and I actually realized what the words to that song meant. I mean, it's obvious, I just hadn't ever really thought about it in relation to anyone in particular. I had never met anyone like you. And I know I never will again. At the risk of sounding melodramatic, because this is a very dramatic time, I am just going to make an observation and a prediction. From today and for the rest of my life, whenever I hear that song, I'm going to smile and think of you and all the people you made smile by shining that light of yours and sharing it with us mere mortals.
