I met Bob in Hollywood when he had first moved West
I was probably around 22 but didn't know he was Superman then.
We met at the IHOP restaurant on Sunset Blvd. across from Hollywood High
He came over to my table and within a few minutes I was transfixed by such a gorgeous hunk who nvited me to go and see his model trains
We dated for several months and we were quite the couple.
He gave me a ring and it was hard to say no
But I was too young to settle down
Regrets.... yes maybe..... but we had fun and he loved me and for that..... I have fond memories.......and when I contacted him a few years ago just for fun
He said I had made his day!! I felt the same way.......

I was 16 when my mom and dad took me and my brothers to see It's A Bird, It's A Plane, It's Superman, in July of 1966. Bob invited all of the kids in the audience to come back stage after the performance to meet Superman. He signed the program we bought. He was in wardrobe and showed us how he flew on wires. He was great. What a memory. Oh, and he had a great baritone voice. Great show.

I was Bob's first wife. We were married on Sept. 12, 1953. He was 20 and I was 21. We were married 9 years and had a son, Michael. It was not to be and we both moved on. I always knew he had a lot of talent and would achieve something in show business and he did as Superman. We were all reunited many years later when we met Kelly and Joe. He was very lucky to have such a caring daughter and son-in-law. RIP Superman and fly with the angels.

Kelly, my beautiful friend...I am so sorry for the loss of your dad. He was such a wonderful man! Always smiling and bringing joy to others. He welcomed me with open arms from day one and I looked to him as a father figure in my life when I didn't have one. I am very thankful to have known him! He lived such an amazing, fun-filed, exciting life and was extremely blessed to have you as his daughter. The love and dedication you had for him is second to none. Always remember that he is with you forever in your heart, looking down on you, smiling and super proud of the woman you have become. I love you with all my heart! You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Kelly I remember a few years ago talking with you at length about your dad. It didn't take long before I understood how very much you meant to each other.
When our parents bring us into the world it is fully understood that they should protect and provide for us. Hopefully they teach us about the difference between right and wrong and what real love means. We take it for granted that they will always be there and we assume it is their responsibility to love us unconditionally.
When those same parents of ours become weak and frail and unable to care for themselves in life, there is no guarantee that we as children have learned the things as mentioned above. It is not always fully understood that it then becomes our responsibility to care for them as they cared for us.
You Kelly have learned the lessons your father had taught you. You made it very clear to your dad that you would be there for him as he was for you. You sacrificed , you handled yourself with compassion and empathy. You gave him comfort and most importantly love.
Please know that you can look yourself straight in the eye, and know that you were the best daughter that your father could have imagined. Live with no regrets, because you were always there for him and you gave him the gift of knowing he had done something right in his own life when he looked into your eyes.
Here's a big hug for you..
I'm so sorry for your loss.
