Bonnie Lou Finken, 84, passed away Monday, December 16, 2024 in Graham, TX. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Bonnie was born April 26, 1940 in Wauseon, Ohio to the late Emmet and Mildred R. (Ruffer) Short. She graduated from Archbold (Ohio) High School in 1958 and attended the International Business College in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. She worked in secretarial/bookkeeping positions in Northwestern Ohio for most of her career but later went to work for Walmart which allowed her to transfer to Graham, Texas in 1999 to be close to her grandchildren, whom she cherished.

Bonnie loved all things horse related whether it was quarter horses, cutting horses or race horses. She enjoyed attending many horse events at the Young County Arena. Bonnie had a green thumb and loved working in her yard, even in her later years and always sported a beautiful pot of flowers on her porch or patio.

"Grandma Bon", as she was affectionately known by her grandkids, was a devoted supporter of her grandkids' many activities. From sporting events to livestock shows, if it involved her grandkids, she was there cheering them on.

Bonnie had a crazy sense of humor and she never met a stranger as anyone who knew her can attest. She will be missed fiercely.

Survivors include: daughter, Debbie Gleason and husband, Jerry of Newcastle, TX; grandchildren, Ben Gleason and wife Emily of Joshua, TX, and Shanna Gleason of College Station, TX; and sister-in-law, Cherie Short of Archbold, OH.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Keith Short.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to Solaris Hospice or the Young County Humane Society.
