Boyd Galligan

Boyd Addison Galligan passed away on August 10, 2025 at the age of 94 in Tacoma, WA. Born on December 30, 1930 in Seattle, WA, Boyd lived a long life of dedication to his work and deep love for his family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years, Bebe. Together they enjoyed many wonderful years living in their Gig Harbor home on the water. Boyd is survived by his children Debra Franks (Tom), Mark (Susan), Paul (Sid), eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and his dear companion, Patricia Rupp. A truck driver for many years, Boyd followed his passion and became a tugboat captain by profession plying the Puget Sound and beyond. Boyd was known as a walking encyclopedia of the region. His vast knowledge, humble nature and humor made him a treasured presence to all. Kind and gentle throughout his life, Boyd's quiet strength left a lasting impression. The family extends heartfelt thanks to St Joseph Hospital for their compassionate care and to the people of Merrill Gardens for their love and friendship. In accordance with Boyd's wishes, no services are planned.
