Brad McBrayer, age 44, of Mooresboro, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. Brad was born January 19, 1974 in Wake County, NC to Don McBrayer and Sandy Greene McBrayer of Mooresboro. He was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1992 and attended Isothermal Community College. Brad worked for LaNave Shelving for many years and was a faithful member of Prospect Baptist Church. He served as deacon and youth leader at his church. Brad also enjoyed dirt track racing, hunting, having good times with his family and coaching his daughter's softball team. He loved his Lord and his family wholeheartedly. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Hugh and Norma McBrayer and Austin and Maye Greene. Besides his parents, he is survived by his loving wife of twenty-four years, Amanda Scruggs McBrayer; four children, Seth McBrayer, Jerin McBrayer, Sadie McBrayer and Maysan McBrayer all of the home; two sisters, Lavon McBrayer and Lisa McBrayer Scruggs and husband, Roman all of Mooresboro; one brother, Brian McBrayer and fiancé, Tonya Wall of Shelby and a host of nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Prospect Baptist Church with Reverend Ernie Cole, Reverend Sam Henderson and Reverend Murl Lehman officiating. Interment will follow in the McBrayer Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are requested to the Baptist Children's Home of North Carolina, P.O. Box 338, Thomasville, NC 27361.
