A truck driver and resident of Baton Rouge, he died Sunday, June 17, 2012, in Baton Rouge. He was 27 and a native of Atlanta, GA. Visiting at Hall's Celebration Center on Tuesday, June 19, from 6 p.m. until religious service at 7 p.m., conducted by Pastor Melissa Dunn. Funeral will be held on Saturday, June 23, at 11 a.m. at Greater Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 3150 Dogwood Drive, Hapeville, GA 30354. Interment in Kennedy Memorial Gardens, Ellenwood, GA. Survived by his wife, Mrs. Shala Patin Edwards; parents, Ms. Brenda Brooks and Mr. Mrs. Richard Edwards; sisters, Ms. Quwanda Brooks, Ms. LaTanya Brooks, Mrs. Cheryl Johnson; stepsister, Ms. Victoria Jester; stepbrother, Mr. Jonathan Jester; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Patin. Preceded in death by his grandfathers, Mr. Charlie Edwards and Mr. Wilbert Jordan; great-grandmother, Mrs. Florence McHelen; and niece, Zoya Nicole Karma Akbar.
