Brenda Ames Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Feb. 19 to Feb. 20, 2023.
Brenda Sue Ames, 72, of Fellsmere passed away Sunday, February 12th with her family by her side.

She was born to the late H.O. and Nita Hunter on June 6th, 1950, in Milan, Indiana. She was married to Ed Ames of Fellsmere, FL.

Although born in Indiana, Brenda grew up in Vero Beach, Fl. As a young lady, she was crowned Jr. Miss Vero Beach in 1963. Brenda was an avid equestrian and well known in the local barrel racing circuits, qualifying many years for the National Barrel Horse Association's National Finals. She could often be found on trail rides with her friends & family, working cattle, or trying to teach a young person the wonders of caring and riding horses. Brenda also loved hunting, fishing and just about everything outdoors.

Brenda is survived by her husband Ed Ames, brother Bruce Hunter and his wife Angela of Vero Beach, and son Todd Manny and his wife Kristie of Vancouver, WA. She is also survived by two grandsons, Ryan and Jacob Manny of Vancouver, WA.

A celebration of life will be held at the Fellsmere Riding Club Saturday, February 25th from 1-4pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to VNA Hospice. Anyone wishing to send the family a message or share a story is asked to visit Brenda's memorial page at www.seawindsfh.com
