Brenda Diane Costa

COSTA, Brenda Diane 55, of Palm Harbor passed away Sunday, Feb. 13 after a valiant battle with brain cancer. Brenda was born on April 28, 1955 in Miami at Mercy Hospital to Davidina "Baby" Barnhill Compton and Francis Burton Compton. Brenda graduated from Miami Killian Senior High School in 1973 and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Business Administration from the University of South Florida. She was first employed at Liberty Mutual Insurance in Atlanta, GA as a casualty adjuster and completed her 31 year career at Crawford & Co. in Tampa. Brenda met Frank P. Costa while both were attending the University of South Florida. Brenda married Frank on April 19, 1980. She enjoyed boating, snow-skiing, tennis, gardening, and music. Brenda was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Miami and attended the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Palm Harbor. In addition to her loving husband Frank, Brenda is survived by her sons Frankie Costa and Robert Costa; her brother Burt Compton (Kathie) of Marfa, TX; her sister Valerie Dullum (Jim) of Palm Beach, FL; her parents-in-law Frank P. and Josephine Costa; her brothers-in-law Vince Costa and Ray Costa (Kathleen) all of Charlotte County, FL; nine nieces; one nephew, and several great-nieces and -nephews. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents. Services will be private.
