Brian Phelan Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 28, 2014.

Our son Brian Phelan was killed in an auto accident on November 23, 2014. He was one of our favorite sons. Brian was on the wrestling team at Wethersfield High School where he graduated from in 2006. After high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force and spent six years fighting the War on Terror as an Aircraft Systems Technician. Surviving one tour in Iraq and two tours in Afghanistan, he was Honorably discharged from his home base in Florida with the rank of Sergeant. Working extremely hard his last two years of life at Magna Steel as an Iron Worker/Welder, he leaves his only daughter Chloe Brook Phelan. He'll be sorely missed by his parents Daniel Jr. and Debra W. Phelan with his brother Daniel III of Wethersfield. Brian is also leaving many friends and relatives; his wife Tucker Williamson, his beloved grandmothers Barbara Wood of Wethersfield and Virginia Wood of Rocky Hill, his aunt and uncle Keith and Coleen Wood, and his cousins Casey (whom he loved like a sister), Aimee and Adam. He also leaves his best friend and Air Force comrade Salvatore Randazzo and Chloe's nanny, Lizzy Johnson and her husband Brian and their three sons of FL. Brian was predeceased by his grandfather LT. Carl Wood of the Wethersfield Police Dept. Friends may call on Sunday November 30, 2014 from 2-5 pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd. Wethersfield, CT. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon Monday December 1, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery. To extend online condolences or for directions, please visit Farleysullivan.com. The Wounded Warriors Project (which he was), was his favorite charity. You fought the good fight son, Rest in Peace. In God we trust.

Brian is a remarkable young man who brightened up a room with his beautiful smile. He fondly me called me "Ma" since he spent a lot of time at our house with Sal & Joe. Bill & I always enjoyed his company. Our hearts are saddened for the entire Phelan/Wood families. I will cherish my memories of Brian & will forever keep him in my heart and prayers.
