Christy, you were sure blessed to have found a love like you and Doug had. It's very rare. He was a wonderful guy, always happy,polite, cooperative, fun to have in class, and sooo handsome. You were a perfect couple. You could see the love in his eyes in the photos shown at the funeral today... the wonderful love felt by all the friends and family of Doug and you was also evident today. It is my honor to know you both. My sympathies, Christy, wish I could make it better, but only God can do that. Love you!

It's amazing how facebook can teach you so much about a person you didn't really know. I felt I got to know my cousin even more in the last few years just by chatting with him on FB or by reading his posts. He was so generous to his friends and family, and I could tell he genuinely loved people and life! I will continue his love of 'people watching' at the airports during my travels. Doug, good men such as you are a gift from God even if only for a little while. As all good men do, you have left an awful hole in the fabric of our community and in our hearts. I will miss your easy way, your gentle smile and good conversation while we listened to Christy sing. I know that love you have lives on in your sweet soul mate, Christy and your family.
