Bruce Green

Bruce Milton Green East Chicago / Hammond Bruce Milton Green was born October 3, 1944 in East Chicago, Indiana to the union of Rose Anglin and Elige L. Green who preceded him in death. Bruce passed away at St. Margaret Mercy Hospital, May 5, 2004, after a lengthy illness. He was a graduate of Washington High School, East Chicago, in 1964. During his lifetime Bruce held numerous trucking jobs including Red Top, IBM and Holseum Bread Co. Bruce was a supervisor for The Department of Streets and Sanitation in Hammond. He was presently residing in Hammond with his family. He also coached basketball at the Boys and Girls Club in Hammond. He cared deeply about helping people especially children. Bruce professed his religion in the Islamic Birth in 1957. He was dedicated to his faith where he also gained his martial arts training and received a Black Belt. Bruce was "Mr. Excitement" and the"Happy-Go-Lucky" member of the family. He kept everyone laughing and in spite of being the fifth child he was the protector of the family. He leaves to mourn, Lynda Hulitt, his fiancee and seven children: Milton Bruce, Jr. (Pat), Mardella (Willie) Irving, Apria, Yuself (Juanita), Ushaw (Rebecca), Jamafia, Tayonna (Eric) Little; former wife Betty Green; 27 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two sisters Joyce Fareed, Debbie Boatwright and four brothers Shuaib Binn Neel (Saisa), Arnold Lee, Elige Jr. (Clanthia), Johnny James Green, and a host of nieces and nephews, in-laws and friends. Visitation Monday, May 10, 2004 from 9:30 a.m to 11:30 a.m. with Homegoing Services at 11:30 a.m. from Alpha Mortuary, 421 W. 5th Ave., Gary. Interment, Ridgelawn Cemetery, Gary.
