Bruce Anthony Westrick, 64, passed away peacefully Friday, August 14, 2015 at his home in Ft. Wayne, surrounded by his loving family. He was a native and lifetime resident of Ft. Wayne, IN. Bruce attended Bishop Dwenger HS for three years and graduated from Whitko HS in 1968. Bruce earned an engineering degree from Purdue University. He was the owner and president of Gen II Marketing for 25 years. He was a loving husband, father, and papa to his granddaughters and an amazing man adored by his wife and daughters. He left a lasting impression on everyone he came in contact with. He truly loved life and his positive outlook was apparent to all. He was a lake man through and through. He loved fishing, bonfires, telling jokes, boating, soaking up the sun and his beloved dog, Darla. Not only did his heart belong to the lake but the sea as well. He loved spending time in Key West fishing, enjoying the local food, and hanging out at the sandbar with his friends. He was an active member of society who served as President of Aboite Twp for many years in which he helped develop Indian Trails Park, and President of Volunteers for Aboite. Surviving are his wife, Deborah Westrick of Fort Wayne, IN; daughters, Heidi (Edward) Smid and Holly (Matt) O'Connor both of Indianapolis, IN; granddaughters, Emerson and Allison, father-in-law, Clyde Smith of Ft. Wayne, IN: brothers, Don (Danelle) of Hoagland, IN; Chris of South Whitley, IN;John (Jeni) of North Manchester, IN; Joe (Wendy) of Loxley, AL; sisters, Maureen (Dick) Westrick-Forbes of North Conway, NH; Mary (Tom) Wood of Anaconda, MT; Elaine (Dallas) Griswold of Lafayette IN. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents Noelen A. and Rita Jean Westrick. Mass of Christian Burial is 11:00 am Tuesday August 18, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Road with calling one hour prior. Calling also Monday, August 17, 2015, 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm & 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home 8325 Covington Rd Ft. Wayne, IN with a Rosary at 4:30 pm. Burial in Catholic Cemetery, Ft. Wayne, In. Memorials may be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church or The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation.
