Bruce Zoss Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 5, 2025.
Bruce LuVerne Zoss, 74, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away July 27 , 2025, leaving behind cherished memories and a devoted family. Born on September 7, 1950, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, Bruce was the beloved son of the late Fredrick LuVerne Zoss and Kathryn Inez Zoss. He had fond memories of growing up in Stockton, Illinois and often referred to Stockton where he was the happiest. Bruce graduated from Harlan High School in 1968. Bruce was a loving father to his daughter, Julia Zoss, who survives him, and a proud grandfather to Austin Buck and Mari Zoss-Darwin. He was eager to see Mari pursue his passion for baseball at Bellevue East High School in Bellevue, Nebraska - something he looked forward to with immense pride.

Bruce was a supportive brother to Steve, Ron, and Denny Zoss, as well as to his sisters, Becky Deterding and Valerie Defenbaugh. Bruce cherished family gatherings and always provided a presence at holidays and family celebrations. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.

Rest in peace, dear father. Your memory will live on in our hearts forever.

Bruce came to Stockton and joined our class for several years. He was well liked and we were so happy to get reacquainted at our 50th reunion a few years ago. I´m so sorry for your loss.
