He was one of four children born to the late Saverio and Filomena Bornino. He was born in Ravenna, Ohio and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a veteran of World War II serving his country for three years, in the medical corps of Africa and Italy. While serving in Naples, Italy, he met his wife Anna Maria De Simone. They were married on June 27, 1945. During his long working career he worked for the IRS, and then the United States Air Force as a civilian contract negotiator and as head of the Small Business Bureau-Western Branch. Besides his wife of nearly 65 years, he leaves behind four children, Anna Maria Glusac, Bruno Bornino Jr., Denise Maryse Dorin, and Carla Rose Smith, and their spouses, thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Bruno is survived by two brothers, James and Joseph Bornino, and his sister Rose Montagnese as well as many other loving family members and friends. Bruno enjoyed playing pinochle with friends, watching western, murder-mystery, or political television programs, going to musical plays, being with his family, dancing a hearty polka, and playing a challenging game of solitaire.
