Bruno Suraci, Obituary
Bruno was born in New Haven on Sept. 26, 1944, a son of the late Bruno and Nellie Wyatt Broukar Suraci; he and his brother Dominic were the co-owners of the former Post Road Auto Body; he was the owner and operator of B.F. Suraci Spray & Paint Inc. for many years and was also very involved with real estate. Bruno was an athletic enthusiast, enjoyed swimming and was a member of the swim masters of North Haven, enjoyed bicycling, hiking, was an excellent softball player having played at Painters Park in West Haven and also enjoyed yoga.
He was the father of Bruno (Tamara) Suraci and Mark Suraci; grandfather of Cassandra Lyn Suraci, Marc Sebastian Suraci, Bruno Nicholas Suraci and Callie Suraci; brother of Winifred, Dominic, Betsy, Timothy (Deborah) Suraci and the late John Suraci. Predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Roseann Russo-Suraci. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; his loving companion, Susan Giddings; and his beloved dog, Ruckus.
Funeral services were conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., Wednesday, April 5. Interment followed in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Closer to Free Fund, PO Box 1849, New Haven, CT 06508, which jointly supports Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale New Haven and Yale Cancer Center.
