Bryan Card

Bryan Card, age 58, unexpectedly passed away and returned home to his Heavenly Father on March, 31, 2017 while at his home in Cedar Park, Texas.

He was born on Father's Day, June 15, 1958 in Pontiac, Michigan to Richard and Patricia Card. He married Julie Sattler on June 20, 1980 in Port Huron, Michigan. Bryan and Julie were blessed with two wonderful children, Dillon and Emma. He and his family resided in Colorado for 30 years where he lived life to the fullest while snow skiing, fishing, hunting, and camping. His character was defined by optimism, passion, and a daily relationship with Jesus. Bryan was truly a jack-of-all-trades as he continuously pursued many business ventures with Julie, his lifelong partner and best friend.

He is survived by his wife, Julie; son Dillon (Megan) Card of Redondo Beach, California; daughter Emma Card of Tempe, Arizona; parents Richard and Patricia Card of Port Huron, Michigan; brothers Michael (Elizabeth) Card of Shelby Township, Michigan; David (Pam) Card of Aurora, Colorado; sisters Lorraine (Gary) Wright of Ft. Myers, Florida; Lisa (Dan) Hagy of Clio, Michigan; Vicky (Jeff) Bousson of Ft. Gratiot, Michigan; and Kristina (Todd) Kinney of Ft. Gratiot, Michigan.

There will be a memorial held early summer 2017 in Port Huron, Michigan to celebrate Bryan's life.

To Bryan' family and friends! I just found out about Bryan's passing today! With my deepest sympathy and regret that I did not contact him. I will miss him and will always think of him. I met Bryan at a construction site in Austin Tx. In the early 80s, he was a superintendant. We became very close friends and worked on many projects together. We even bought homes in the same neighborhood. He was full of energy and made the impossible happen and lived life to the fullest. We spent a lot time on the boat water skiing. I moved to Chicago in the mid 90s and lost touch with Julie and Bryan. I will always think of Bryan and I will never forget him either.

I had the honor of knowing Bryan for nearly 20 years and like everyone I just was stunned to hear the news of his passing. But I can take comfort in the fact that he was a believer and loved the Lord. For anyone that knew him he was a really special person; funny, unbelievably energetic, and kind. I've seriously never met anyone with his energy and enthusiasm. If he cared about something or someone you knew it and there are just too few people like him in this world. People with genuine positive energy. Beyond our faith if we leave anything of real value behind it's the people we've touched and the children we've raised. By that measure Bryan (and Julie) have done extraordinary work raising two incredible children in Dylan and Emma. I honestly could not be more impressed by a family. Not a day has gone by since I heard the news that we lost him that I've not thought about the great times we had in Turks, enjoying good conversation over a dinner of lobster and grouper. We had some real laugh out loud moments. He will be deeply missed. My prayers and those of my family are with all of you - Julie, Dylan, Emma, his extended family and friends. We love you all and grieve with you for the loss of a great friend, husband and father. By any of those measures Bryan lived a really full life.

Bryan always had a welcoming smile and a kind word. I will miss the look on his face when he would first see you that said I'm so glad your here and lets talk. We will miss you and send our thoughts and prayers to Julie, Dylan, and Emma.

Bryan was one of a kind. He was a dear friend, roommate, co-conspiritor in late night hijinks/fun/laughter and one of the few people I know who obtained a tremendous wealth of knowledge without having to pay for a college education. In his own way, that in itself shows how smart he was. He was a wonderful husband, father, son & brother who loved his family with all his heart & soul. Julie, Emma & Dillon you were his pride and joy and he couldn't contain his love and respect for all you have accomplished in our last visit together in November. I will miss his smile, wit & zest for life, and can only hope to one day meet up with him in that wonderful "next adventure" that he has embarked upon!

So sad to hear this. Bryan was such a charismatic, fun, one of a kind man. I have such great memories of him in our youth. Lots of good times partying in his van and at that little house on Sanborn with the gang back in the day. What a gorgeous family he made with Julie. My thoughts and condolences and hugs to all the Cards.
