Bryan Nelson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 12, 2025.
Bryan Matthew Nelson, 54, passed away on August 17th, 2021 in Las Vegas, NV.

Bryan was born on October 17, 1967, in Port Angeles, WA to Michael Chester Nelson and Marilyn Kaye Nelson (Jonas).

He graduated Port Angeles High School in 1986 and Centralia College in 1990. He was a Communications major and spent two decades in radio broadcasting. He was a DJ for stations in SW Washington, KONP in Port Angeles, and KMPS and KZOK in Seattle, WA.

Bryan married Michelle Metropolit on March 30, 1991. Together they had Tyler Michael Nelson born March 9, 1992.

He later married Melissa Dawn Balsley on December 9, 2010, in Las Vegas, NV. Together they had Caleb Matthew Reve Nelson born February 15, 2012.

Bryan's love of music showed early in life as he would not leave the record player alone as a toddler. He started playing guitar and piano as a teen, and would play in bands into his 20's. He wrote and composed music and proved to have perfect pitch.

He had a passion for sports and fancied himself a semi-professional prognosticator. He was always happy to give free advice to those visiting the sportsbooks of Vegas.

Bryan was a larger-than-life personality that would often strike up conversations with complete strangers with genuine interest. He was a loving father, a good friend to many, and volunteered often. He especially enjoyed working the snack shack at Caleb's school and calling children by a given nickname.

Bryan is survived by his wife Melissa, sons Tyler and Caleb, father Michael, mother Marilyn, and brother Timothy.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 27th, 2025, from 12:00pm - 3:00pm at Dacca Barn 2820 54th Avenue E., Fife, WA 98424 to reminisce and honor Bryan's life.
