On Monday, September 12, 2016. Beloved daughter of Cecil and Hazel (predeceased) Cannon; devoted wife of Michael V. Simmons (predeceased); loving mother of Michael M. Simmons and Melissa S. (Terrence) Johnson; devoted grandmother of Terrence M. Johnson, De'Shaun Simmons, Makai and Makayla Simmons, Toriano Johnson, Tiago Johnson and Thierry Johnson; loving oldest sister of Carl A. (Janice) Cannon and Karen C. (James) Jarvis; dedicated sister-n-law of Russell D. (Sheila) Simmons and Patricia A. (Kenneth) Keitt; cherished aunt of a host of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by other relatives and many friends. The family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, September 21, from 10 a.m. until time of Memorial Mass at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 1600 Morris Rd. SE. I have known and loved Mille since we were kids growing up on Queen Street. Once we were allowed to cross the street to play with one another we've been playmates ever since! To the Family of Camille, I have enjoyed working with Camille in the Temple Hills Neighborhood Watch, which she worked tirelessly on. She did such a great job contacting government authorities and having them come to the meetings to speak and inform us of important information. I will also miss seeing her as a neighbor. She and her husband moved across the street from me as newlyweds many years ago but to my misfortune, I didn't really get to know her that well until after we were both retired. I especially want to express my most sincere sympathy to Michael and Mimi and their families.
