Caren Cwalina Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 11, 2024.
Caren M. Cwalina (née Lyons), 82, of Hudson, NH, passed away on July 6, 2024, at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx, NY after a battle with cancer.

Born on July 15, 1941, in New Brunswick, NJ, she graduated from St Peter's High School in 1959 and would later marry classmate Bruce Cwalina. Settling in Westford, MA, Caren raised her children then had a lengthy career at the Westford House nursing home. Her deep faith in the Catholic Church led to a rich connection with members of the Meet the Father Ministry and with them Caren traveled all over the northeast and to Europe multiple times. Upon retirement, Caren moved to Lakewood, NJ where she reconnected with family and continued her never-ending search for knowledge, especially in the areas of health and nutrition.

Caren is survived by her son Kevin of Cottekill, NY, her daughter Michelle (Miki) Caruso of Lake Grove, NY, her beloved grandchildren Cassie, TJ and Lindsay Caruso, all of Lake Grove, as well as her sisters: Judy Crowell of Lakewood, NJ and Donna Tufaro and Anita Delucia, both of Las Vegas, NV. She was preceded in death by her daughter Kelly, her husband Bruce and her parents: Joseph and Anita Lyons.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Calvary Hospital and to members of the Meet the Father Ministry, who provided Caren with compassion, connection and care in her later years.
