Carl is survived by his brothers Billy and Dean Mueller, son Nick Mueller, nephew DJ, sisters in law Deana, Michelle and Lani Mueller, cousin Althea, The Hayes', The Renzullis, many family by choice, and countless friends, fans, and admirers from all walks of life.
He joins his beloved parents Carl Sr. and Barbara, his brother Donny, and son CJ in eternal rest.
He will be greatly missed for his way of making everyone he ever encountered feel loved and important, and for being the free spirit that everyone flew with every time he stepped onto the stage.
Services will be private.

A few nights ago, I was visited by an old friend in a dream only to learn later that his brother recently passed. Billy, I am truly heartbroken for your loss. I met Carl and Billy when they were students in Woodrow Wilson Jr. H.S. They wanted to play a specific song in the school talent show. I said it wasn't appropriate, but the band played it anyway. It caused quite a commotion. Many years later (more than 50 years) I purchased some real-estate in Seaside Heights. While walking past the Beachcomber I saw a sign "Now appearing - The Flying Meuller Brothers". I said to myself -" Could it be the same Meuller Brothers?" It was, and when he realized it was me the first thing he said was "The talent show". I am so upset with his passing. May he rest in peace!

The band Impact and he left an impact on me. He always got the room going especially when he would go around tapping his drum sticks on anything around the bar. Great memories for sure. My condolences to his family and fellow musicians.

I just heard about Carl. I knew that he had some major heart issues but none the less his passing was a great shock. Ever since I first turned 18 to the end of the Impact era, Carl, Donny and Will were an ever present weekly experience. I was a member of what Carl referred to as the "Oakland boys" and we always showed up weekdays and weekends. His humor and playing are permanently etched into my mind. From Nanuet, Red Rail on Tuesday, Paramus, Cus from Hoe on Wednesday, to wherever they were playing on the weekend. He was always the leader of the party. To this day every time I here the theme song from Palisades Park Amusement Park, I think of him. He will be missed.

I know a totally different side of Carl. Carl was a tractor trailer driver contracted by the United States Post Office. He was a skilled driver and just a down right sweet spirit. Always smiling and oh so polite. He would come and pick up our mail at the post office I work for for many years. So sad to hear of his passing.

My condolences to the Mueller family and friends who loved him. My memories of Carl was when he played with Impact in Clifton and then they went to the Flying Mueller Brothers I always saw them when I lived in Seaside Heights and they played at the Surf Club in Ortley Beach OMG just had a lot of fun . Carl will be truly missed by so many my heart is so broken of the loss of CJ

My first memory of Carl and the Flying Muellers brothers was on New Year´s Eve at Quincy´s Junkyard when I was around 25 year´s old. From that night on , I was hooked. Thank you Carl for giving me the best times of my life especially the summers at the Surf Club. You always made my birthday´s memorable, especially my 30th which we always joked Arlanda

I am truly heartbroken to hear of Carl's passing. We have so many happy and fun memories with the FMB family. Carl and I always had a special friendship. We met over 20 years ago and he called me Shorty from day 1. Together, we celebrated engagements, marriages, and the births of children. I will never forget the days with him, singing and dancing on stage. My condolences to Nick, Billy, Michele, DJ, Deana, and family. I truly loved Carl and he will forever be in my heart, along with you all. May he rest in peace with Donny, CJ, and his parents. I feel like this is the day the music died, but I know Carl would want us to keep the party alive. I am so grateful for those times and for having known Carl, who was amazingly talented, fun-loving, and kind.

Carl was one of my best friend CJ 3´s father & one of the kindest people I have ever had the pleasure to know. He always had a way of making everyone feel like someone and passed that on to his sons who both are/were close friends of mine. He always let you know how much you mean to him and was a profound presence with a heart of gold. I was so grateful for everytime I spoke to him, stepped into his mom, and shared our love of music together no matter how that was being shared. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered for the incredible human being, father to my friends, and musician he was. We love you forever

C.J. came to my house and too his guitar out of his jeep then asked me if he can play a song to me and I said yes and he played Dont Let the Sun Catch You Crying. That was my last memory of my cousin Carl 3 weeks before CJ passed.

What can I say about Carl, he´s someone no matter where or who he met, he would most definitely make an "Impact" lots of great memories and will sadly miss his musical talent, friendship and more so his humor! As I wrap my head around the news that affected us all, I can only stand here and feel absolutely blessed and honored to have known and become friends with Carl. I was introduced to Carl back in 1990 when I was hired at LP. Since that moment, his presence and music has been a huge part of mine and my family's life. He made everyone feel like family. There is no tear to be shed but only the cherished smiles and memories that will be with me for a lifetime. My thoughts and prayers go out to Billy, Karen, Christine and Nick. Please know that Carl will always be celebrated in our home.

The first time we saw the FMB was in the 90´s by accident. Once they started with their drums from the back of the room to the stage we were mesmerized. I have never seen a more fun band since!! We have seen them many times throughout the decades. The last time was in 2017. I´m so sorry to hear of Carl´s passing, he was the heart and soul of the band. RIP Carl

CJ was one of a kind. He made the world a better place. Loved his energy on stage and how he made each show entertaining. He had a heart of gold and was there for my family when my daughter was sick and organized a benefit. He taught her to play the drums so she could play at her benefit. I will miss you, your friendship and seeing you entertain. Rest in peace. You will always be in my treasured memories and in my heart

I spent Every Saturday afternoon for 20 summers with the Flying Mueller Brothers! They were truly the nicest, genuine, heartwarming and fun family I´ve ever known! The minute they started playing it was always like the first time! You immediately got happy as did all our customers! They were loved by everyone! They would call me their Mueller Sister, bring me on stage every week, put the drum kit on me and sing "Felicia you´re breaking my heart"! Now I´m heart broken! God Bless The Mueller family! I met Carl when I was about 17. I wasn´t old enough to get into the clubs but used fake ID´s. We used to see Impact back in the day and had the greatest times!
He made me laugh and impressed me with his charisma and talent. My corner of the world will not be the same!

Woody Wilson jr high, 9th grade, 1971. Carl and I had wood shop together. Carl kept saying, "I wanna make an eagle" over and over. I couldn't stop laughing and he started laughing. Then years later down the shore at Jenk's or the Beachcomber. Carl would see me in the crowd and come on over to say hi while he was singing. I would say in his ear,"I wanna make an eagle" and he'd start laughing. Carl was one of the nicest guys I had the pleasure to know. Gonna miss you pal. Thanks for all the funny memories. Rest In Peace my friend.
