1921 – 2015
Carl Walter Snyder, formerly of Macoun, SK passed away at the Estevan Regional Nursing Home, Estevan, SK on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the age of 93 years. Carl is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marion; children, Gayle (James) Gustafson, Douglas (Marcia) Snider, Heather (Barry) Barnstable and Trevor (Lynna) Snider; grandchildren, Terra (Stu) Davidson, Julia (Ryan) Ukrainetz, Russell (Dieta) Snider, Tyson (Jayna) Snider, Stacy (Devin) Aspinall, Stephanie (Kent) Ashworth, Branden Barnstable, Brianna Snider (fiancé Kris Little), Kelli Snider and Alissa Snider; great-grandchildren, Etta Davidson, Livaya, Caleb and Claire Ukrainetz, Autumn and Aspen Snider, Levi and Lily Snider, Sadie and Kensie Aspinall, as well as two brothers, seven sisters, and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Macoun Evangelical Missionary Church with Pastor Charlie Bowen officiating. Interment will follow at the Macoun Cemetery. Those wishing to make donations in Carl's memory may do so directly to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 917A Albert Street, Regina, SK, S4R 2P6 or a charity of choice.

Saddened to receive this news of Carl's departure from this good earth. I so enjoyed a short visit with Carl & Marion in 2010 and it is to them I owe a debt of gratitude of showing me the only photo of a Macoun lumber yard that my grandfather managed from 1904 to 1935. Gone before I arrived in 1939. To All the Snyder/Snider family members my deepest sympathy. An atypical large family that made Macoun a much better place to have experienced life in the 1940's and 50's. It is with pride when relating stories of large families to friends of how Carl was the oldest son of a family of 15 - Two girls, two boys, two girls, two boys. then a long drum roll and completing the story -seven girls. A long life well lived.
