Carlos Rodriguez Larios Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jan. 22 to Jan. 23, 2023.
Carlos L. Rodriguez, 69, departed this world on Friday, January 6, 2023, at Lexington Medical Center. He was a devoted Husband and loving Father to his beautiful girls.

He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Wennie A. Rodriguez and beautiful Daughters Wennie Liza A. Rodriguez and Alanie A. Rodriguez of South Carolina. He is remembered by his younger daughters for his love, devotion to their dreams, weekends at the flea market and road trips through the countryside.

With his former wife, he is survived by two children; son, Carlos Rodriguez Jr., Daughter-n-Law, Eliana Rodriguez and two Grandsons, Marlo and Zavi Rodriguez; And Daughter Yesenia Rodriguez-Hower, Son-n-Law, Ryan Hower, Grandson Roan Hower and Granddaughter Olivia Rodriguez-Hower. He is remembered by his older two children by his "Dad jokes," fishing trips, soccer games, visits to job sites, incredible talent with woodwork and harsh life lessons.

Carlos is preceded in death by his brothers, Jaime & Alfredo and sister, Carmela. He is survived by his brother Victor Rodriguez, Sisters, Yolanda, Lourdes, Irma, Laura and Marisela Rodriguez and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carlos was born on November 13, 1953, in San Miguel, Queretaro, Mexico to his late parents Augusto Rodriguez and Cruz Larios. He ventured to the United States in 1973 and brought with him his love for soccer. He was an adventurer and a life-long learner of all things.

In his youthful years, he played volleyball, trying out for the Olympian Volleyball Mexican National Team and later played Semi-Pro Soccer for the Gallos Blancos in Queretaro, Mexico. As an avid soccer player, his two older children tagged along to every soccer game and watched him play on sun-casted soccer fields for many years.

A true craftsman, Carlos mastered carpentry for over 40 years. He built astounding homes, cabinetry and doors throughout Texas, Virginia, Georgia and South Carolina. He took pride in his work and taught anyone who was willing to learn. During his time off, he loved fishing, hunting, singing and playing his guitar. He loved to tell his children about the time he sang and played his guitar on National TV as a young man.

Carlos never left the house without a fishing reel in his truck. Many who ran into him while fishing would get a genuine lesson on the best lure and technique to use. He loved to provide lessons for all things!

He appreciated technology, watching YouTube, TikTok and Netflix, and never lost his love for a good old fashioned Western movie! Carlos continued to work on his woodcraft. There wasn't anything he couldn't make or fix. In his truck, he left his life in place with a tackle box, fishing reels, measuring tapes, tools, notebooks, pencils, and lots of cookie crumbs. This was his life, summed in tangible memories.

As he settled into his later years, he was his younger daughters' biggest supporter and fan as they accomplished milestones in music and school. He appreciated his loving wife's patience, cooking and kind gestures.

We would like to honor Carlos during his Celebration of Life by wearing something green. Friends & Family are welcome.
