CARMELITA SALCEDO ABLAZA Carmelita Salcedo Ablaza born June 15, 1937 in Manila Philippines to Judge Julian Ferrer Salcedo and Simlicia Sanjuan Gumarang. Carmelita passed away peacefully at Life Care of Kennewick at 2:22pm on November 12, 2018 at the age of 81. Carm-elita worked as a public school teacher in the Philippines for 50 years, teaching Social Studies and Science. She was a member of the Philippine Teachers Association, Couples for Christ (CFC) and Bukas Loob Sa Diyos (BLD). Carmelita was preceded in death by her daughter, Sylvia A. Norviel; parents, Ramon Salcedo and Antonietta Salcedo. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Cesar Manlapaz Ablaza; two sons, Cesar and Raymundo Ablaza; three daughters, Rosario (Michael) Horhota, Lynne (Douglas) Conklin and Theresa (Gil) Balasan; son in-law, Vern Norviel; grandchildren, Michael Truong, Brian and Emily Ablaza, Patrick Balasan and Erica Balasan; two sisters and brother in the Philippines, Veronica Baluyot, Lorna Pugeda and Julian Salcedo Jr.; nephews and nieces, Rupert Baluyot, Olivia Baluyot, Stephany Baluyot, Mark Pugeda and Alvin Pugeda. A viewing will be held on Friday, November 23, 2018 ~ 4-8pm with Rosary starting at 6pm at Hillcrest Memorial Center 9353 W. Clearwater Ave. Kennewick. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, November 24, 2018 ~ 11am at St. Joseph's Parish Church 520 S. Garfield St., Kennewick; Interment will follow at Riverview Heights Cemetery 1200 S. Olympia, Kennewick, WA.
