CARMINE SEBASTIAN Obituary
Age 88, of Dravosburg, died September 24, 2018. He was the son of the late Angelo and Mary (Dorazio) Sebastian; he is survived by his beloved wife, Dolores (Kovacs) Sebastian; brother, John (Mary Lou) Sebastian of McCandless; and many nieces and nephews. Carmine was a retired school teacher for the city of Pittsburgh, transportation director, and vice principal. He was a member of Queen of the Rosary Parish, was a graduate of California University and got his doctorate degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1963. Friends received Thursday, October 4th, 2-4 and 6-8 at the WOJCIECHOWSKI FUNERAL HOME. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, October 5th, 10:30 a.m. at Queen of the Rosary with Rev. Miroslaus Wojcicki. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association 1100 Liberty Ave. Suite E201 Pittsburgh, PA 15222.

I have nothing but fond memories of Carmine Sebastian. He helped instill a solid work ethic in me and I carried his influence through all my working years. Sadly I am out of town and unable to pay my proper respects. Dolores, you and your family are in my prayers.

IN 1955 I BEGAN TEACHING GRAPHIC ARTS AT WESTINGHOUSE HIGH SCHOOL WHERE I FIRST MET CARMINE. HE AND HIS BROTHER WERE WORKING DURING THE SUMMERS AS GREYHOUND DRIVERS. HE URGED ME TO APPLY FOR TRAINING TO DRIVE. LITTLE DID I KNOW AT THE TIME I WOULD WORK FOR THIRTY YEARS FOR THE GREYHOUND LINES. I AM NOT ONLY RETIRED FROMM TEACHING BUT GREYHOUND AS WELL. I SEND MY SYMPATHY TO THE FAMILY AND WILL INCLUDE THEM IN MY PRAYERS. BILL DININO

I was deeply sorrowed to learn of the passing of my friend and colleague Dr. Carmine Sebastian. I knew of no one who was as exact and precise in his records as he was. In this aspect he became my respected mentor. I shall ever be indebted to me.
