Carol Scott Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 20, 2025.
Carol Ann Scott, age 84, of Dennis, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2025, in Hyannis, Massachusetts.

She was the beloved wife of the late Frederick D. Scott Jr., cherished mother of Susan Scott-Mabile and mother of the late Timothy D. Scott, devoted grandmother to Tucker J. Mabile, Noah W. Mabile, Samuel S. Mabile, Madison Scott, and Cameron Scott. Carol was also the sister of the late Arthur John Schroeder and is survived by her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Helen and Al Caro of New York.

Born and raised in New York, Carol attended Virginia State University before marrying Frederick and building a life together in Teaneck, New Jersey. Later, they relocated to Yarmouthport on Cape Cod, where Carol raised her two children and cultivated a warm and welcoming home.

Carol found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She also cherished her lifelong friendship with Annie Haupt; their 50 years of laughter and shared adventures brought her immense happiness.

A woman of many talents and interests, Carol volunteered at Cape Cod Hospital, worked as a sales associate and law firm administrative assistant. Her passion was collecting hand-carved decoy ducks, baking bread from scratch, making her signature cranberry chutney each year, and hosting memorable dinner gatherings in her home. Watching old Western movies with John Wayne for hours brought her immense enjoyment. Feeding and petting horses at the various farms around the Yarmouth/Dennis area was one of her most favorite outings.

A celebration of Carol's life will be held in July for family and friends. Interment will be private.

"We are all stories in the end, remembered by the adventures we had, the achievements we made, and the people we loved. So make sure your story is a good one."

May Carol's memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
