Carol Ann White Hamblen

Carol Ann White (née Hamblen), born on April 22, 1948, in Southwest Harbor, Maine, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, in Portland, Maine. She was 77 years old. Carol was the daughter of Stanwood and Marjorie Hamblen and grew up in the close-knit community of Southwest Harbor.

She graduated from Pemetic High School before continuing her education at the University of Southern Maine in Portland. Her academic journey reflected her lifelong curiosity and commitment to personal growth.

Throughout her life, Carol was a source of warmth and joy to those around her. Known for her infectious smile and uplifting spirit, she had a unique ability to brighten any room she entered. Whether through a kind word or a shared laugh, Carol made lasting impressions on everyone she met.

She found joy in many pursuits over the years. In her younger days, she enjoyed playing tennis-a sport that brought both energy and camaraderie into her life. Later, she developed a passion for crafting-or at least collecting crafting materials with great enthusiasm for future projects. Her creative spirit was evident in the way she approached life: with imagination, care, and a touch of humor.

Carol's greatest pride came from her family. She is lovingly remembered by her sister Jennifer Wheeler; her children Michael White, Alison Libby, and Mathew White; her grandchildren Savannah Worster, Evan Libby, Alexander White, Henry White, and Isaac Shultz; and her great grandchild Oliver Worster. Each of them carries forward pieces of Carol's legacy-her kindness, resilience, and unwavering love.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Neal Hamblen.

Our beacon of light-Carol always knew how to bring a smile to your face in any conversation. She will be forever in our hearts and memories as one of the kindest persons we have had the privilege to know. May her memory bring comfort to all who loved her. A Memorial Gathering will be held on August 9, 2025, from 01:00 PM to 02:00 PM at Mount Height Cemetery 13 Bass Harbor Road, Southwest Harbor Maine.
