Carolyn Rardin Obituary
Carolyn was known for her vibrant personality & love for hosting parties, always ready to entertain & make everyone welcome. Her generous nature & deep love for her family & friends endeared her to all who knew her.
She had a unique sense of humor that always brought joy & laughter to those around her. She had a keen eye for fashion, thrifty but always stylish & elegant.
SHe was a talented artist & would modestly deny her artistic abilities but a creative spirit & remarkable storyteller with a natural knack for a quick "ditty".
She gave of herself to so many things over the years, Colonial Playrs Theater, Annapolis arts Foundation, "Gray Lady" at the USNA hospital, First Presbyterian Church on Duke of Gloucester & Christian Women's Club. ALWAYS on call as Mom, taxi driver, cook & counselor & healer of broken hearts.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter LuAnn Masterson, granddaughters Samantha(Nicholas)Nicastro, MacKenzie(Kyle) Byrd & great granddaughter Reagan Kuenzer; so Hugh W Rardin(Melissa), granddaughter Hailey Rardin & grandson Pierce Rardin.
A memorial service will be held June 29, 2024 at 1pm in the chapel at Westminster Canterbury, 3100 Shore Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23451
In lieu of flowers contribution may be made to the St Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Carolyn.

I´m so sorry to hear of your mother´s passing. My husband and I bought your family home on Long Green, about 5 years ago and have loved being here, enjoying sharing the space with many friends and families. I can only imagine the fun your family had here. This is an amazing neighborhood and we are grateful for the way your parents were improvers!

"Auntie C" was the Best! My mom's best friend, she and Mom orchestrated parties, pool days, barbeques, beach trips, sledding outings, Halloween costumes and more when we were young. We were so excited to reconnect after years apart; spending time at the beach with Mom, Carolyn and Luann was SO precious and some of the happiest moments we've had together for years. It was so wonderful to talk to Carolyn as an adult; she's always been one of the most engaging, fun and interesting people I've ever known. She will be desperately missed and most fondly remembered.
