Gathering restrictions during the pandemic delayed the traditional service. The family invites friends of Carolyn to a Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at the First Christian Church in Murray, Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, November 27, 2021, prior to the service. She was born February 28, 1928, in Murray, Kentucky, to William Zelna and Martha Stevenson Carter. She was of Christian faith and a lifelong member of First Christian Church. Murray, KY. Carolyn attended Murray State University, during which time she held the title of Miss West Kentucky. She later returned to her alma mater where she worked in the MSU Athletic Department, and later in the Management & Marketing Department. She retired after 29 years of service. Carolyn was a member of the Christian Women's Fellowship, The Twins Foundation, and Tri Sigma Sorority. She was a supporter of both the Calloway County Humane Society, and the Murray Art Guild. She was a gifted painter and left many works to be treasured by family and friends. Her hand painted Christmas exhibits were a significant contribution to the beginning of "Christmas in the Park". She was an avid fan of both Murray State University and the St. Louis Cardinals, along with her husband. She treasured her family and especially loved the role of "CC". She put a smile on many with her positive, cheerful outlook. She was a friend to all whose lives she touched. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Johnny Reagan and her twin brother, John Mack Carter of Bronxville NY. She always professed Johnny was the love of her life, the best part of the storybook life she had. She is survived by her two daughters: Jan Fuqua and husband John; Lyn Ryan and husband Mike of Murray; five grandchildren: Tony Ryan and wife Chelsee, Mitch Ryan and wife Ashley, Alan Chase and wife Mary, all of Murray; Amy Chase of Louisville KY; Greg Ryan and wife Mallory of Florence, KY; and ten great grandchildren. Jan and Lyn,
So very saddened to hear of your loss. Your Mother was a beautiful lady both inside and out. You were so fortunate to have such loving caring parents. Remember the depth of your sorrow is a measure of your deep love for a wonderful parent.

We will always be grateful to Carolyn and Johnny for the warm and continuing welcoming to us when we joined the First Christian Church upon our return to Murray in 2004. Carolyn had such a wonderful approach to life and belief in goodness which is a lesson to us all.

Where do I start. Carolyn was the sweetest, most thoughtful friend. She brought me a treat everytime she came in the shop. Christmas time was always fun to see what Christmas card and gift she gave me,city have many, many things from CC. I loved that she always dressed in fashions of whatever it was at the time and she always looked fabulous! She dearly loved her Johnny❤

So sorry for your loss. Carolyn was my mother away from home. She was a lovely lady and a great friend while i attended Murray state to play for coach. She always made me feel at home and fixed me numerous meals and late night snacks. She was a blessing to me and I will always remember her. RIP

I'm writing on behalf of my mother, Avonell Farmer Carlisle, or Avie as Carolyn called her. For some reason my father, Max Carlisle, never liked that name. I'm afraid that mom is not able to do much these days but wanted me to write and express her since of lost. She and Carolyn were very close friends in high school and college. Even though they were not able to get together as much as they would of liked to over the years, they were able to get together on last time about four years. I know that she will be greatly missed by all.

Carolyn rest in peace. I know the Lord has another Angel around his throne. It was always a pleasure when Carolyn came to see me and help me walk my K-9 Collette. She would always say she had never seen a dog so big that was so friendly as Collette and as pretty as Collette. She was a true animal lover. Lyn and Jan so very sorry for your loss.
