Carrie Bond Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 11, 2025.
Carrie Bond, age 92, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025, in Olympia Fields, Illinois. Born on October 18, 1932, in Eufaula, Alabama, Carrie lived a long and meaningful life marked by generosity, compassion, and unwavering dedication to family and community.

Carrie was raised in the Methodist faith and later became a devoted member of New Moont Tabor Missionary Baptist Church #7. Her spiritual journey reflected her deep-rooted values and commitment to service.

Throughout her life, Carrie embraced many roles that enriched the lives of those around her. She served as a Little League Baseball assistant and a Girl Scout leader-roles that showcased her nurturing spirit and desire to support youth development. Her entrepreneurial drive led her to operate a food truck business, where she combined her love for cooking with her passion for connecting with people.

Family was at the heart of Carrie's world. She is lovingly remembered by her five children: Fredrica Worlds, Maurice Worlds Sr., Melaniese Abdur-Rahman (née Worlds), Carletta Jones (née Worlds), and Dannie T. Worlds. Her legacy continues through eight grandchildren: Khadija Smith (née Abdur-Rahman), Darrell Worlds, Lawrence E. Clay, Yvette R. Lysaught (née Clay), Taaj Nur (née Abdur-Rahman), Karreeshea Jones, Najeeb Abdur-Rahman, and Maurice Worlds Jr., as well as eight great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind three cherished sisters: Annie Doris Jones, Mary Carolyn Reese, and Gail Grant; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

In recent years, as health challenges arose, Carrie was lovingly cared for by her son Dannie and daughter Melaniese. Their devotion ensured she remained comfortable and supported in every way possible. Close friends Mary Ann Davis, Joyce Barnes, Mary Smith, and Maurice Thomas provided steadfast companionship and assistance with transportation-an enduring testament to the strong bonds she formed throughout her life.

Carrie was preceded in death by two sisters-Theresa Bowens and Mildred Browning-and two brothers-Freddy Leval Thomas and Eddie Queen.

Carrie's warmth touched everyone who knew them. Their memory will continue to inspire kindness and resilience in all who were fortunate enough to share in their journey.

May their memory bring comfort to those who knew them.
