I cant believe its been 10 years. Seems like yesterday. Think of you, Jerry and Sally, often. A loss like you have had is something you never get over, you just get thru it. Still in my prayers.

I will always cherish and remember the good times growing up next door to my friend Casey. It was so saddening to hear of his passing and to learn he's gone at such a young age. The fond memories become more vivid with this sad news and made me realize more how lucky I was to have such a wonderful and special friend living right next to me.

Thank you Casey for all these memories and the impact you had on my life.

One Last Cradle Song for Casey

Sleep, our baby, Lie still and slumber,
All through the night
Guardian Angels God will lend thee,
All through the night
God is here, you'll not be lonely,
All through the night
'Tis not I who guards thee only,
All through the night
Night's dark shades will soon be over,
Our watchful care shall hover,
God with us His watch is keeping,
All through the night…

And Forever More

Goodbye Casey

Sally, Gerry, and Kelly, we have now lived in Philadelphia for 20 years, but will always remember and appreciate the Fitzgibbon family -- all of our memories of Casey and all of you. Tragic things happen to good people and wonderful families. We are so sad for your loss of Casey. Our memories of him are great ones. He spent a lot of time with Jamie at our house. We were extremely lucky to have such great neighbors when we lived next to you all. God bless and we will call in the future to talk.

Dear Jerry and family,
I never got the honor of meeting your son or the rest of your family. However, the way you spoke of them all, so proud, I felt like I knew them! I know there are truly no words I can say to bring comfort to you, all I can say is I am soo very sorry for your loss and all I can offer are my prayers to carry you through this difficult time. I still am very happy that our paths crossed and that you became a part of my life and taught me the wonderful ways of Microsoft office! You truly are a special man and I am sure your son followed in your footsteps. God Bless and prayers and peace be with you now and always!

Dear Sally and Jerry:

Although we haven’t seen each other since high school, I wanted to express my sincere condolences on your loss of your son. As a parent who has lost a child at a young age, I know your pain to well and grieve with you for your loss. Four years ago I lost my only son Vinnie. For me, keeping my son's memory alive is what keeps me going. Our children are gifts from God and their memories, love and spirit will live on forever. May God keep you all close to His heart, and comfort you during your time of sorrow.

My deepest condolences to your family. Casey was a great friend and even better Marine. He will live in my memories forever. No matter what was going on in the world or what far corner we were in Casey's laugh would brighten the day. I served with Casey from June 1997 to Oct 2000. We remained friends after his discharge He will forever be my brother.

"I give you this one thought to keep - I am with you still - I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift, uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not think of me as gone - I am with you still - in each new dawn."

Casey - may your spirit live in the lives of your family and friends each and every day.

Dearest Sally, Jerry, Kelly and family,
When I heard of Casey's passing I was in such disbelief. The cycle of life has been broken. We're not suppose to lose our children before us. May God give you the strength to continue on in love and understanding why. I hope your grandchildren will be your little pillers to guide you on. Always know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Some day we will all be reunited with friends and family. Peace and love to you all.

I see the little boy with stars in his twinkling eyes. I see the handsome young man in uniform. I see the adult with his pal Angel stopping in the office to say goodbye. I see the beautiful spirit walking the path in paradise with his heavenly Father. Earth's loss is heavens gain. Our love and prayers are with you in your grief. May the memories of your beautiful son help you through these difficult days. God hold you close in the palm of His loving hand. Your pain is shared by all who love you and Casey. You have been asked to walk this path, take my hand you are not alone. I love you all so very much.

The lives of your family and friends will never be the same without you. All of this seems useless, since words simply can not describe what you meant to your family, friends, and everyone you touched. I wish there was a stronger way to say it, but they will MISS YOU... The only thing we can take from this is that one day, God will re-unite you with the people who love you again in paradise. I pray to God that He has given you the best seat in paradise, because you deserve nothing less than that. I will see you soon but this time not as usual. This will be the worst and the last one. :(

The world has lost an amazing man.

May your soul rest in peace my dearest friend Casey >_<
