Catarina Franco Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 19, 2009.
FRANCO, Catarina (nee Nero) It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our much adored Caterina Nero-Franco on February 15, 2009 while enjoying a break from winter visiting her son in Naples, Florida. She left us peacefully after some surgical complications to rejoin her very loving husband Antonio. They were inseparable for over fifty-five years and they remain so for eternity. Her children, Dr. Nicolas Franco (Martha), Jim Franco (Maria), her grandchildren Christopher, Vanessa, Sandra, Daniella, David and Nicolas, her mother Giuseppa, sister Gaetanina (Giulio Romano) and extended family and friends will always be grateful for her selfless and unconditional love, devotion, overwhelming dedication, generosity, guidance and understanding that she brought into our lives. We will miss her dearly. We will receive visitors at Complexe Funeraire Loreto, 4975 boul. Des Grandes Prairies (corner boul. Viau), St-Leonard, 514-325-3535, on Friday, February 20 from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 10 p.m. and Saturday, February 21 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Mass will be at Notre Dame de Pompei, 2875 Sauve E. (corner boul. St-Michel), Montreal, 514-388-9271 on Saturday, February 21 at 11 a.m. Burial soon after at Cemetery St-Francois D'Assise (Mausoleum St-Antoine), 514-255-6444. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

My wife and I extend our sincere condolences to the Franco family on the loss of Caterina. She was much loved and an inspiration to us during our childhood; and what a great cook she was!! We will all miss her dearly. Her devotion to her family and late husband is an example of what true love really is!!
