Catherine Barley

Catherine Barley, age 82, of Denham Springs, La., former resident of Florence, passed away on Thursday Jan. 9, 2014. Graveside services will be Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, 10 a.m., at Florence City Cemetery with Brother Rich Hardeman officiating.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Milza Sanford Barley Jr.; parents, James Edgar and Sarah Russum; sister, Virginia Russum Goad; and nephew, Thomas Albert "Tommy" Goad Jr.

Catherine is survived by her children, Milza Sanford "Sandy" Barley III, Janet Barley Holder, Virginia Barley Opper, and James Michael Barley; sister, Mary Ann Lipscomb; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Forest Hills Baptist Church.
