Catherine (Kay) Muehleman

Catherine (Kay) Muehleman (nee Franco), age 97, formerly of Chicago, Skokie, and Lindenhurst. Beloved wife of the late Melvin; loving mother of Carol (Ralph Cress), Fred (Rhonda), and James (Polly). Dearest grandmother of Andria (Dara), James (Sarah), Logan, Sunny (Sean), Charlotte, Vaughn and great-grandmother of Matilda and Noah. Special friends Josie, Judy, Arnita, and Dawn. She was a multitalented woman who enjoyed working as a seamstress and assistant librarian in her earlier years. She was also proficient at pottery, crocheting, and knitting and made many clothing and decorative items for family and friends. Kay had a wide circle of friends who were supportive of her throughout her life, including those of the lady's sorority of her early years and of the health club in later years. She and Mel enjoyed traveling throughout the US and Europe and were fortunate to have had lovely homes in which to enjoy and entertain family and friends frequently. She was quite fortunate to be living with, and under the care of, her son, James and daughter-in-law Polly for the last 15 months of her life. A memorial luncheon for family and friends will be planned at a later date.
