Catherine Patricia Khordi

Catherine Khordi (née Dennis) passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025 after a long illness at the age of 81. Catherine was a wonderful person who cherished her family and friends, loved art, and was always full of laughter.

Catherine was born on September 3, 1943 to Arthur and Margaret Dennis in the Bronx, New York. The youngest of 10 children. Cathy lost her father at a very young age. Her mother Margaret then remarried to a wonderful man Joe, who raised the children as his own. During her early 20s, Catherine worked in the fashion industry in Manhattan and was, for a short time, a fashion model.

Catherine remained close to her brothers and sisters after settling in central NJ to raise her family. She worked for most of her career as a bookkeeper in the construction, food and furniture industries. When her grandchildren, Zachary and Ethan, were born, her life was filled with joy and she loved spending time with them.

Catherine loved shopping at flea markets, going to the movies, and painting oil and watercolor painting inspired by her idol Claude Monet. Catherine always dreamed of visiting the Monet's gardens in Giverny, France.

Catherine is survived by her children, Jennifer and Daniel (Danielle), her grandchildren Zachary and Ethan (Stephanie) her great-granddaughter Kimberly, and her former husband Benjamin (Mary Clare).

A celebration of her life will be held with family and friends in late August. Please join us in remembering her life and wishing her everlasting peace. In lieu of gifts, her family asks that donations be made in memory of Catherine Khordi to the Alzheimer's Association (https://www.alz.org)
