Charlotte, North Carolina - Cathy Pehl made fighting cancer look easy for over six years, but in the end even her fighting spirit could not resist the call of God to bring her home. She is now cancer free in Heaven. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Keith, her daughters Nicole and Kayla, brother Tal Owen, and mother Jenelle Owen. Cathy was a Charlotte native, attending Garinger High School and then UNC Greensboro. She then ended up at Duke Energy, working for 11 years prior to taking on her biggest challenge: raising twin girls. And what a fabulous job she did! Along the way, she loved skiing on Lake Norman, playing tennis, caring for plants and animals, and listening to Carolina Beach Music. Nothing could brighten up a room like Cathy and her dazzling smile when she began dancing the Shag to the Embers or the Chairmen of the Board. She was a strong and beautiful woman – both physically and spiritually. Heaven just won the lottery by receiving Cathy. She loved her family, friends, her Church, and her Lord. She will be fiercely missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held in her memory this Friday afternoon, Sept 3rd, at 4pm outdoors at the Arbor at Denver United Methodist Church, 3910 North NC 16, Denver, NC. Bright, tropical attire is requested – no black! Visitation with the family will occur immediately after the service.
