PREZIOSO-LACOUTURE

Age 32, on the 24th of February 2002, born October 7, 1969. Most precious daughter of Francis and Sue Prezioso; loving wife of Andre Lacouture; cherished sister of Francis Prezioso and his wife Deanne and Donna Lund and her husband Donald; several nieces and nephews. Cathy was a 1987 graduate of Bethel Park High School. She continued her studies at Westminster College and was graduated in 1991. I would like to thank everyone who has written in this guest book. I would especially want to thank "GRAB". I can't tell you how much it means to my family and I to read these messages. I know the book will go off the web site soon so I thought if anyone is looking at it today or before it's gone I want you to know it is a year today, February 24, 2003 that Cathy went to heaven. There are no words to describe how much we miss her, she was the couragous one, she was the one that wouldn't let go till she thought we would be ok. I just wanted people to know that. And with all her pain she still made us smile, and she expects no less from us but to be strong and live life.

Thank you all so much

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Prezioso, Donna and all of Cathy's loved ones,

I still smile when I think of "little" Cathy. Her eyes always sparkled, her adorable giggle was contagious, and her enthusiasm never ceased. I coached her in cheerleading at St. Tom's when she was just in grade school and I'll hold a picture of her in my mind forever. God bless you all. You're in our prayers and I thank you and Cathy for so many of my fond memories of St. Thomas More School.

Dear Andre and family;

We were very saddened to hear about Cathy's loss. Although I never met her, Cira had spoken so beautifully of her and the fact that Andre had chosen her as his wife made her very special. I ask God to grant you the grace and strength to accept His will. We'll keep you in our prayers. ¡Que Dios te bendiga!

Sincerely,

Our hearts go out the the Prezioso and Lacouture Families in this time of sorrow. Cathy and Andre attended

our daughter Francine's wedding to Jeff Morris. Although their stay with us was brief we felt very much part of Jeff's friends and extended family. We inquired about Cathy and Andre often through Jeff and Francine because they were so close. We are also thankful for Cathy's presence here on earth.

She graced us with her courage, intelligence, beauty, humor and for this we thank you Lord.

May you find peace in your hearts

with Gods' love and our prayers.

I will keep you and your family - as well as her husband, Andre - in my thoughts and prayers for a longtime to come. I can only hope that the comfort of your memories and the strength of your family sustains you in this difficult time.

But then I realized that she is now in a much better place, free from pain, watching over all of us -- Especially, Andre and the Prezioso family. March 1, 2002

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Prezioso, Donna, Fran & extended family,

I was very sad to learn of Cathy's illness and passing. We just moved back "home". I have met many different people over the years who unfortunately think little of where they grew up. I feel so fortunate to have great memories of growing up in our neighborhood. This includes the time I spent with Cathy & Donna; doing cheers in the side of the yard, playing Pac-man in the basement (for hours) and going to get ice cream afterwards, hanging out after practice (you always made me feel so welcome) and mostly laughing. Cathy had the best and sharpest sense of humor! At a time when it is easy to be insecure Cathy was always strong. She seems to have made the same impression on everyone; truly beautiful inside and out. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

March 1, 2002

To the Prezioso and Lacouture families:

I only knew Cathy for a short time. I was working at Jones Gregg when she got her job out of law school. Although she was not with us at Jones Gregg for very long, I learned that Cathy was the kind of person that I would like to say was my friend. She made me laugh. I wish I would have gotten to know her better. After she left Jones Gregg, I followed her life through the knowledge of people that knew her better than I did. A day did not go by that I did not think of her and what she must have been going through. When I heard she got married, I was thrilled for her. Not a surprise, but a truly special love story.

I attended the mass yesterday at St. Thomas Moore Church which is a church I attend often. It was a beautiful tribute to a girl that was obviously loved by so many people. I will never forget knowing her. My thoughts and prayers are with her and all of you.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth Lawrence

People disappear, but they never really go away. Their spirits put the sun to bed, wake up grass, and spin the earth in dizzy circles. Sometimes you can see them dancing in a cloud during the day-time, when they're supposed to be sleeping. They paint the rainbows and also the sunsets and make waves splash and tug at the tide. They toss shooting stars and listen to wishes. And when they sing wind songs, they whisper to us, don't miss me too much, it's beautiful here and I'm doing just fine.

I had the privilege of getting to know Cathy during our first year of law school. She was such a beautiful and friendly person. She had so much energy, a wonderful sense of humor, and was such fun to be around. I remember when she first told me of her illness - it was the day of our class picture. Despite the circumstances, Cathy appeared for the picture, and displayed her characteristically brilliant smile. I understand that she showed the same courage and grace throughout the duration of her illness. After meeting her parents, it is evident where Cathy got her wonderful sense of warmth. My husband and I extend our deepest sympathy to all of Cathy's family on their tragic loss. Cathy will be truly missed and forever remembered.

When my brother called me to tell me of Cathy's passing, my heart sank. I have such sweet memories of us together in grade school at STM, and of course with our cheerleading. After graduating from BPHS together in 1987, Cathy and I were next-door neighbors our freshman year at Westminster. We then pledged ZTA together and ended up creating a string of memories as sorority sisters. Thoughts of mortality touch me deeply as I sit here reflecting on those "Glory Days." God's blessings to her husband and family as you celebrate her life and mourn her death -- I'm sure she's smiling down on all of us from above. My prayers are with you all.

Dear Family

Cathy situation touched me deeply and I have been thinking of her since I met her in August. She came into the DAS Unit at Shadyside Hosptital, accompanied by her mother, to have a port inserted, a necessary thing but for a grim purpose. She was dealing with her illness graciously and courageously. As an old nurse from Canada, I have seen alot of really sad situations but Cathy's illness really hit me; what an awful thing to have happen to such a beautiful person; inside and out. She will be greatly missed I know.

My deepest sympathy to Andre and the Prezioso family. Cathy and I were part of a special group of six friends in high school. She will be remembered dearly and thought of often for her vibrant personality and contagious smile.

Even though I have not seen Cathy since we graduated,I have never forgotten that friendly smile of hers. Cathy was always so outgoing and so fun to be around. She really knew how to make people feel good. Cathy was a special person, and will never be forgotten in the lives she touched! May you all be comforted knowing she is with the Lord now, and may you cherish your memories forever!

I graduated highschool with Cathy and while I only knew her from a few classes, I will always remember how beautiful she was and how she was always smiling. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you and with Cathy.

Andre & Family,

My most cherished memory of Cathy will always be travelling together with Andre & Her to Jeff & Francine's wedding in Minneapolis. We joked in the car ride to the airport about my "more than moderate" fear of flying. While rushing to the gate, Cathy gave me one of her Blessed Virgin Medals that had been given to her. She said I will always be safe when I travel as long as I carry it with me. It has never left my wallet since and I will always carry it with me. THANK YOU CATHY! You are forever in my memory and prayers!

I first met Cathy when I agreed to help with the First Annual Mother's Hope Gala and auction. She, too, was on the planning committee and through the months of preparation I had several opportunities to discuss various plans with her. I found Cathy to be a very courageously cheerful, forthright, interesting and entertaining person. She won my heart immediately. I wish to send my condolences and my prayers to her family. May God bless all of you and keep you in his very special care.

Our deepest sympathy in this time of sorrow. My sister Lenley and Cathy were high school classmates, roommates at Westminster College, and after college. I will always remember her zest for life and infectious smile. Our thoughts and prayers to you family.
