Cecil Lloyd Robison was born on October 25, 1932 and went to be with the Lord two days shy of his 85th birthday on October 23, 2017. Cecil was born just outside of Boynton, OK to Floyd Finis and Walsie Emly Robison on a stormy, fall day and consequently was nicknamed Stormy by his grandfather.
After graduating from high school, Cecil spent two years at Oklahoma A&M before joining the United States Navy. He was stationed in various locations both stateside and overseas and particularly enjoyed his time working as a radio operator on Paris Plane R4D-6, Tail # 50797 while stationed at Orly Field near Paris, France as it afforded him the opportunity to fly to most of the European countries as well as Africa and Greenland and enjoy many adventures. Near the end of his tour of duty, he was transferred to Quonset Point Naval Air Station in Rhode Island and subsequently met and married Elizabeth Bourret in 1959. Later he began a career as a jet engine mechanic at the naval air station and could fix just about anything. After moving his family to Oklahoma in 1974, Cecil began a long career as a postal worker in Durant, OK where he enjoyed the interactions with people in the community.
Cecil was a kind, caring, Christian man who loved the Lord and loved his family. He was a man of principle who was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church and served as a deacon for many years helping others in the congregation and community. Whether simply sharing time together chatting or traveling the globe, Cecil's most cherished time was time spent with family.
Cecil was an avid reader, and he had an affinity for all topics related to history. He also enjoyed exploring the history of his family in order to preserve the past for future generations and spent many hours researching and compiling this information. Cecil also had an appreciation for outdoor activities and could often be found working in his vegetable garden or simply manicuring the yard.
Cecil is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth Helen (Bourret) Robison of the home; a son, David Lloyd Robison of Madill, OK; daughter Martha Elizabeth Robison of Kingston, OK; and daughter Susan Jean Robison of Valley View, TX. He is also survived by three grandsons: Jason Eric Taylor and his daughter Hayden Miller of Durant, OK; David Alan Robison and wife Lauren and their son Royal Henry of Denison, TX; and Christopher Lloyd Robison of Durant, OK. In addition, he is survived by two sisters, Norma Jean Lee of Bixby, OK and Linda Sue Thomas of Morris, OK and numerous other family members and friends.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents as well as siblings Wilma Joyce Rainwater, Bobby Joe Robison, Lavada Ruth Crenshaw, Charles Floyd Robison, Jerry David Robison, and Sharron Gail Fleetwood.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Durant, OK with Pastor Craig Scavo officiating. Interment to follow at Highland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles Allen, Jack Crenshaw, Jack Harper, Jim Morris, Don Parker, and Alfred Wheeler. In lieu of family calling hours, Cecil will lie in repose at Brown's Funeral Home in Durant, OK until noon on the day of the funeral services. Remembrances may be made in the form desired by family and friends. However, should loved ones desire, the family suggests that memorial contributions be sent to the Faith Lutheran Church Youth Fund as an expression of sympathy.
Services are under the direction of Brown's Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.

To my family, Aunt Deet, David, Martha, Susan, and grandchildren,
I loved my uncle Rob dearly and have so many fond memories growing up while the Robison family was with us in Rhode Island, every time I would talk about uncle Rob to my other cousins or siblings the comments about our uncle were he is the kindest man and always a smile or laugh and most of all engaged with us as kids got involved with us growing up and for that I will always cherish love and prayers to my family during this difficult time.
Love,
Lee Ann (Bourret) Quinn

I remember when he moved back from Rhode Island (I think) he just seemed bigger than life and as a kid from OK I was mesmerized by Bettys northern accent! Thinking of and praying for Betty, David, Martha, Susan and other family members during this time!
