Celestino Cubilla

Celestino Gutierrez Cubilla passed away on October 16, 2017 in Boca Raton, FL, surrounded by family and those he loved. He was 66.
Celestino was born on October 31, 1950 in Chiriqui, Panama to his parents, Sabina Gutierrez and Celestino Cubilla. He graduated from San Antonio Bachillerato, Universidad de Panama, and Catholic University of America. Later, he worked for the Panama Canal as a financial analyst under the U.S. government. Then, after coming to the United States, he worked for Pomeranz Financial Services as an investment advisor/director of operations. He married Gilma Castano in September of 1981.

Celestino lived life happily, always with a smile on his face as he told jokes and stories. He loved to travel, which is shown in his time spent in Panama City, Bogota, and, eventually, Boca Raton. Along with traveling, Celestino loved reading maps and spending his time at the beach. He also enjoyed eating mariscos, his favorite food. Celestino's life was spent surrounded by love from and laughter with his family and many friends.

Celestino is survived by his wife, Gilma Cubilla, and his daughter, Ana Maria Cubilla, his brothers and sister, his mother, Sabina, and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Celestino.

Celestino's life will be celebrated in a funeral mass on October 23, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Boca Raton. Arrangements under the direction of Babione Funeral Home, Boca Raton, FL.
