Celia Verduzco Villarino Rojo left us unexpectedly on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at the age of 83 years.
She was an accomplished mother, teacher's aide, talented knitter, seamstress as a hobby, and crafter. She was a natural cook and baker. She loved sports and was a Dodger, Angels, and Laker's fan. She played golf. She also loved tending to her ranch in Baja, Mexico, loved to garden, enjoyed puzzles, board games, and most of all spending time with her family.
Celia was born October 11, 1938, in Ensenada - Baja California Mexico, the daughter of Santos Verduzco Arce and Ninfa Villarino de Verduzco. She emigrated from Ensenada - Baja California Mexico in 1963 and married Jorge Montelongo Calderon on October 27, 1963, from which she had five children. Later in life she was divorced and married again to Walter Rojo until his passing on June 23, 1996.
As the matriarch of a large family, she led by an example of hard work, love and acceptance, and unending support. She always ensured that her family was well-fed, well-loved and she took great interest in what everyone was doing.
Celia Verduzco was a loving mother and is survived by her children: Jorge Alexander Calderon Verduzco and (Valerie) of Mesa, AZ; Celia Calderon Ramirez and (Jose Luis) Ramirez of Valencia, CA; Ana Huffman of Tustin, CA; Ricardo Calderon of Anaheim, CA, and Patricia Calderon of West Covina. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
