Charles L. Birri, 75, of Northborough, MA., died Friday, January 13, 2006 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, 55 Lake Ave. N. Worcester, MA.

Born in Marlborough, MA, he was the son of the late Celestino and Elvira (Rigoli) Birri, and the husband of Joyce (Stone) Birri, of Northborough, to whom he had been married for the past 43 years.

A 1947 graduate of the Marlborough Vocational School, he served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He had been employed for many years by the former AT&T Company, now Verizon, as a central toll technician. Following his retirement in 1997 he enjoyed gardening and sports.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons; Anthony J. Birri and his wife Nancy, of Westborough, Paul E. Birri and his wife Cindy, David J. Birri, of Northborough, his daughter; Charlene Birri, of Framingham, his brother, Antonio Birri and his wife Peg, of Marlborough, his sisters; Louise Carbone, Elena Seymour, and Marion Butland, and her husband Herbie, all of Marlborough, his granddaughter; Nicole Birri, and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bernadette’s Church, Main St. ( Rte. 20) Northborough, MA. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2006 from 4-8 p.m. in the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough, MA.

I will always treasure the times spent with uncle Charlie and his family as a child. Your humor and great nature was as inspiration and will be always remembered. It was great spending time with you and Aunt Joyce, catching up on the past 25 years, at the wedding in October. My deepest and sincere condolences to Aunt Joyce, Charlene, Tony, Paul, David, and their families during this diffacult time. Look foward top reuniting with you in the near future. EFC
