To Chuck's Family and Carolyn - My thoughts are with the family. I knew Chuck for many years in Bluefield. I bought my first motorcycle from him. We rode cycles togehter for years. I left the area in 1964 and lost touch. It is sad that we lost touch and he will be missed.

To Chuck's Family and Carolyn - I knew Chuck and the Brunner family for many years in Bluefield. My dad, Dave McGonagle, worked with his dad at WV Armature and we all went to church together. Haven't had contact in years, but that doesn't change the sad feeling that Chuck is gone so soon. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Carolyn: I worked with Chuch at WV Armature Company in Bluefield, and also served at the 304 MP Company behind Beaver High School. Chuck was a friend to all of us, and I really appreciated his wittiness, his love for his fellowman, and for his country. I have not seen him for many years, but he was often remembered and talked about to friends.
God bless each of you in your tremendous loss. Jimmie Barlow

To the Brunner Family:

Chuck was a very large part of the reason that I left Morgantown with a law degree. He was a friend, a mentor, and an undeniable breath of fresh air who kept everyone on their toes and laughing. He made me laugh--- always, and we loved each other as dear friends always do.

I had never met anyone quite like Chuck "Goofy" and I doubt that I ever will. He was remarkably unique and generous with his wit, his philosophy on life, and his ability to look things and people right in the eye- and call them for what they are. He will always be in my heart as one of my dearest friends. May God continue to bless you in this difficult time. Take comfort in the fact that his family was always on his mind and in his conversations. He loves you all very much.

So, as Goofy would have wanted it...

Peace, love, and Out the Door...

Warmest Regards,
Heather Daugherty Clonch, J.D.

Carolyn, David, and family: Our thoughts are with all of you as we recall our fun times with Chuck, especially in our early Bluefield years.

No one gathered more friends from more places with more "Chuck" stories than he did.

Our love and sympathy to all,
