Charles Dean Camden, Sr., 71, of Lynchburg passed away Monday, October 17, 2016 at his residence. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Gloria Ann Camden.

Born in Kimball, West Virginia, September 10, 1945 he was the son of the late Harry Hart Camden and Ellie Mitchem Camden. He retired from B&W after 36 years of service. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Three brothers, Frank Camden, George Sexton and Max Camden preceded him in death.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Delores C. Arrington and her husband Melvin of Madison Heights; two sons, Charles Dean Camden, Jr. and his wife Tina and Harry Walker Camden and his wife Shannon all of Lynchburg; three brothers, Roy Camden, Gene Camden and Carl Camden; two sisters, Delores Garris and Edith Castle; 10 grandchildren, Chelsea Arrington, Chloe Arrington, Cirsten Vest, Jeremy Vest Amanda Camden, Andrew Martin, Levi Walker Camden, Daniel Owens, Luke Owens and Seth Owens and a number of nieces and nephews.

A service celebrating his life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2016 with Celebrant Polly Starnes officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and at other times at the residence.

Hello Gloria and Family,
My heart is truly broken for each of you in the sudden passing of your husband, father, grandfather. It is never easy to lose someone you love so much. It is my prayer that God will grant you the strength and peace that you all need so much at this time, and the days to come. Gloria, we sure go way back together. I have always thought of you as a good friend, and still do. Please know that I am, and will continue to lift you up in prayer.
