Mr. Charles Carroll

DANVERS - Charles Carroll of Danvers passed away peacefully on February 12th following a very brief illness. Born in Salem, MA on December 17, 1936, Charlie was the beloved husband of Barbara J. Carroll for fifty-four years and father of Patricia C. Schipelliti and husband John, and Kristen M. Donovan and husband Edward all of Reading, MA. "Bampy" was the cherished grandfather of his four precious grandchildren each of which he was tremendously proud – Carli Schipelliti, Jay Schipelliti, Kayla Donovan and Jake Donovan, all of Reading, MA. Charles was the loving brother of Mary R. Rodden and brother in law Phillip J. Rodden, and brother of the late Paul G. Carroll, and Uncle Chuck to Kathy Alexander of Fairfield CT, Carol Reynolds of Beverly, MA and Jim Rodden of Georgetown, MA and their loving families. Charlie spent nearly 40 years in education primarily as Director of Guidance at Triton Regional High School in Byfield, MA where he worked prior to retiring in 1999. Following his retirement, he worked in the education program at the Middleton Jail. Charlie graduated from St. Mary's High School in Lynn, MA. He was a graduate of Merrimack College and received his Master's in Education from Salem State University. Charlie was an active parishioner at St. Richard's in Danvers for over 50 years. For many years, he was active in the Danvers community as a member of the St Richard's Couples Club, as a softball coach and a volunteer on many political campaigns. When his children were young, Charlie enjoyed skiing and playing tennis. In retirement, Charlie has been an avid golfer and member of the Wenham Country Club, a frequent traveler including several trips to Europe and wintered in Florida for over 20 years. Charlie was always known to have a good joke, a great book and a warm smile. ARRANGEMENTS: Charles' funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Richard Parish, 90 Forest St., Danvers on Saturday, February 16th at 9 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial at Annunciation Cemetery, Hobart St., Danvers. Visiting hours in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) Danvers on Friday, February 15th from 4 to 8 P.M.
