Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 7, 2025.
Charles "Chuck" Phillip Hedrick, 59, passed away on August 17, 2025, in Oceanside, CA. Born on January 16, 1966, in San Diego, CA, Chuck spent his life rooted in Oceanside, the community he loved. A proud graduate of Oceanside High School's Class of 1985, Chuck remained closely connected to his hometown throughout his life. He found joy in the simple pleasures - gathering with friends for poker nights, spending sunny afternoons at the Del Mar Racetrack and cheering for and being a devoted fan of his favorite teams which were the Chargers, OU Sooners, and San Diego Padres. Chuck's enthusiasm for sports was infectious. He cherished time with his family and friends and is lovingly remembered by his brothers Terence (Isabel) Hedrick and Dwayne (Jordan) Hedrick; nieces Cara Hedrick, Erin Hedrick, Cierra (Adrian) Padilla, and Taylor (Ben) Newman; great-nieces and nephews Addison Padilla, Ainsley Padilla, Adrian Padilla Jr., Scarlett Newman, Stella Newman, Beckham Newman, and Chandler Newman. He was preceded in death by his father Charles P. Hedrick Jr., mother Matilda T. Hedrick, and sister Elizabeth S. Hedrick. Chuck's presence brought warmth and laughter to those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

I wonder if he ever knew how much he meant to Ray & myself. He was there in our beginning and always enjoyed running in to him throughout the years. Kind hearted, funny, simple and genuine. He will be missed and always in our hearts.

Really don't have the words. Chuck was an amazing friend. One call to chuck and he was always there to lend a hand whether it was to put in a door or other forms of work. If he couldn't do it he knew someone that could. I was part of the four man poker group with Chuck Craig and Mark. My friday nights will never be the same. I miss ya friend and thank you for all the fun times and lifetime of memories. Rest in peace.

I met Chuck at the bowling alley at Camp Pendleton and we became friends and we also bowled on a team together. He was a funny guy and he will be missed.
