I was MG Ike's XO from 1986-1987 when he was DCSINT, USAREUR. I never worked for a finer Soldier.

LTC Eichelberger was my CO at 313th ASA Bn, Ft Bragg, 6/70 to 9/73. I never met another officer who "walked the walk and talked the talk" as he did. He once told me that he made an error in judgement about a job he had given me. He admitted he was wrong and wanted me to know it. I will never forget that as long as I live. He was an outstanding man and great officer.

Mrs Eichelberger. Extremely sorry to hear of your loss. For many of us, especially me, the General was larger than life. I owe everything I know about force management and force development to his mentoring - sometimes some tough love, but always in a professional and caring manner. His dedication to soldiers, the MI Corps, and the Nation will not be forgotten by those who knew and respected him. Margot and I send our prayers and deepest sympathies.

Very sorry to hear of the passing of LTG Charles Eichelberger. It was my good fortune to have served with and for him from December 1990 to September 1991, and to have known him over several years before that period. My service with him included Desert Shield / Desert Storm and the post DS/DS period which was a challenge for U.S. Army intelligence. He led well, was a great advocate for Army intelligence and for those of us who worked in that arena. I will always be grateful for my time with him. I offer my final salute. General -- we'll meet again at the next rally point.

Our condolences in the homegoing of an extraordinary servant and leader. We were privileged to know "the General" as a member of our Sunday School class. His list of accomplishments in this life are worthy of honor, yet life's greatest decision by far was when he made a decision for Christ. We know we will be reunited with him in Heaven one day. My God comfort each of you as you miss him and as you grieve this temporary separation.
